Finn has been asking for awhile to sleep in a tent outside. He and Sean finally decided on a Saturday night and set up camp in the back yard. Finn was very excited to put the tent together:

He immediately got inside and started to pretend to sleep:

We had to convince him that first, we had to set up camp, have dinner, and then sleep. Here he is putting together a fire pit:

A good looking campsite:

Roasting corn and hotdogs:

Don't swing your hotdog around:

Josette was content with her hand:

Lily was just content:

Finn attacked his corn:

And of course, roasting marshmallows:

First s'more:

All in all, it was a lovely evening. After dinner, Josette and I packed up and went back to the house. Finn and Sean crawled in the tent and read books with a flashlight and told stories. Then, Finn realized it was much more fun to bounce around on the air mattress than to actually lie down. When Sean told him it was time for bed, Finn responded, "Dad, this isn't bed, its a tent." Needless to say, no sleeping was actually done and Finn and Sean finally retired for the night in the house. We will work up to a full camping adventure!

Wow,looks awesome,I do so love camping! Sounds like a good time was had by all! Give a call when you can, Zak and Colton will be here all day today. Then white bean chicken chili for dinner, only thing missing is all of you. Love and miss you, Bubbles
That is funny, that is almost exactly how our backyard camping adventure went! Steve finally said, "If you bounce around one more time, we're going inside." He bounced, so Steve picked him up and said "We're going in", to which he replied, "OK, goodnight mama." :) Maybe it's more successful if they don't have the option to go back into the house. ~Jess
