3 weeks old

Finn is 3 weeks old today! In some respects, the time has flown by, in others, it has felt like the longest 3 weeks of my life. I am really happy to report that things are looking up. The mastitis has cleared up and I am feeling so much better. Nursing is getting better. Finn still has some issues with latching initially (he likes to chomp down with his gums), but he is getting better and I have had a few nursing sessions that actually felt good and so I have high hopes that we can figure this out. I am feeling so much better than last week, I might as well be a new person. I haven't cried in days, so hopefully the early baby blues are passing. Finn and Lily and I just got back from a nice long walk and Finn is napping so I thought I would throw together this blog post.

Tomorrow we have the specialist appointment concerning the hydronephrosis. I am looking forward to speaking with someone who can give us specifics as to what Finn's condition is. I am confident he is going to be just fine.

We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving this week and the kick off of the holiday season. I am so ready to crank the Christmas tunes and sing my heart out to Finn!

Here are a few photos from this week. We are seeing more and more of Finn's eyes as he is awake and alert more often (unfortunately, sometimes at 3am!):
He enjoys posing with one hand near his face. He must have liked that in the womb. He always looks so contemplative when he does it.
We were surprised on Friday with a visit from Finn's Papa who brought us a swing. It has already been great in soothing Finn when he is having a hard time and needs some swing time to get to sleep.

Wow - What bright eyes! I am so glad things are looking up. He is so BEAUTIFUL!! How exciting for Finn's first holiday season...I am sure if you had lost the holiday spirit even a little this will renew it all! Can't wait to see Christmas pictures!!

Glad to hear things are settling into more of a "routine" and the breast feeding is looking up. I have had a crazy couple weeks, but I will have Finn's gift in the mail shortly. Happy Thanksgiving!!

PS that last comment was me, it posted funky so I re-did it :)
