After the race we headed over to Jon and Kate's. Annalise shared her playroom with Finn and they had a good time:
We went to a bbq that afternoon at one of Sean's work friend's house. We met a lot of great people and Finn decided he really liked bocce ball:
On Sunday, we headed back to the house for more painting and Sean mowed the lawn. Sean's friend from work gave us an old mower that he had and it worked great, although 4/5 of an acre is quite a bit of mowing and took about 3 hours!
We got the bedroom painted and I LOVE the color. I'll post pics when all the painting and trim is done. Sean left for NY this morning and will be gone til Thursday, so it is up to Finn and I to pack, pack, pack. Ugh, my least favorite part!

What a great weekend!! Great job on the 5K & I love the bocce ball pictures!
We have 1/3 of an acre lot and that takes us forever, it seems....almost a full acre with a push mower will be a good workout!
hi sadie -
my question is...how do you paint with finn? is painting a 1 person job, or is it a two person job during nap? or some other configuration? we really want to paint and can't figure out the best time to do it...don't really know what noah would think about it.
nice 5k time!! i'd like to train for more mileage too. hmmmm, i could be interested too...
3 hours for the lawn? are you gonna stick with the push mower or get a riding one?
btw, can you send me your new address for a box full of goodies?
Painting with Finn is challenging and is pretty much a one person job. His napping is so unreliable and he only has napped in the new house once. We were lucky on Friday, Finn's Nana came and took him for a walk which allowed both of us to work for awhile. On Sunday, Sean wore him in the backpack for a bit while he mowed and I got one wall painted. It is a juggling game. I have thought about trying to backpack him while I paint, but I am nervous because you have to finish at least one wall while it is wet and I don't know if he will tolerate it for that long. I tried to put him down in the room with some toys and that ended with him sprint-crawling to a can of paint, putting his hand in it and almost knocking it over. Bad Mommy! Luckily it washed right up and we got no VOC paint. I don't know if with Noah being older, you may be able to set him up with a little roller and some paint and he might think it is pretty fun? I have no concept of that age.
You should definitely start training for more mileage, we can support each other via internet!
Yep, 3 hours for the lawn. We have a list of things we want to do for the house and a riding mower is not really on it, or at least extremely low priority. Can't beat the free price tag on the push mower we got. Sean says it is good exercise and I think it is character building! Sean did say we can have a very big garden to cut down on the mowing space :)
I am going to copy and paste this in an email and get you my address. So excited!
