4 Week Chickens

The chickens are filling out with feathers nicely and they are starting to get little combs above their beaks.  They are turning into such clucky hens.  Their colors have changed quite a bit as the feathers have come in.  We have named several of them, and Finn loves coming up with silly names, but it seems that only one name has stuck, and that is Sunshine for this little chicken.  She is the only one with these orange/gold feathers.  She also is almost always the first one to fly up to us when we open up the brooder.

 Then, there are some wily ones that hop right up on Finn.  This one truly surprised him and he was thrilled as it walked onto his back!

 And, some will hop right out onto the floor these days.  Alas, only 2 weeks until they fly to the coop!
