Take me out to the ballgame!

A group of people from Sean's work got tickets for the Manchester Fisher Cats last night, so Finn went to his first baseball game! We only made it through 3 innings before he was ready to head home, but it was a fun 3 innings!

It was mini-bat night and the first 1000 fans got a nice mini-bat. Time will tell what sort of wreckage will come from Finn's mini-bat, but he was very proud of it at the park.

Finn was very excited by the mascot. We can't say for sure what it is supposed to be....horse, llama, giraffe? But, it obviously is not a fisher cat! Finn gave him a fist bump and wanted to go out on the field with him.

Church Picnic

Here are just a couple cute pictures of Finn from our church picnic on Sunday. Finn had a grand time running around. He thinks church should always be at the park.

Sean & Finn

Just another post on the Father's Day theme to celebrate Sean. Finn loves his Dad so much. He goes running to him when he comes home from work and does a welcome home dance. He often yells "DA-DEE" at incredible high decibles throughout the day. He drags Sean around the house by the finger to show him toys. And he and Sean are the best at the tickle monster game. I am also incredibly lucky to have Sean as a partner in this parenting adventure!

Father's Day: Ice Cream Cone

This is the first time I have seen Finn eat an ice cream cone. He is really funny. He enjoys the ice cream, but really thinks the cone is the main attraction. He would take a lick of the ice cream and then flip it over and take a big bite of cone. In the end, he had just a big ball of ice cream in his hands. Too cute!

Father's Day: Boat Ride

This was Finn's first boat ride of the season. We haven't braved the canoe with him yet, but will soon. This is Jon's little boat with an electric motor, perfect for cruising around with kiddos. Of course, Lily would not be left out of the ride. That is, until she leaped out of the boat and then wanted to jump back in, only to leap back out again. Eventually, she just had to swim back to the dock. Always an adventure with a labrador!

Father's Day: Playing in the Lake

I am going to break up the Father's Day pictures into a few posts, so stay tuned. We had a lovely picnic BBQ down at the lake at Nana & Papa's. Finn loved playing in the water. It was tough to get him out to eat and he kept running back down to continue the fun.

Hiking!

On Saturday, we packed up and drove north to the White Mountains to try out hiking with Finn. We have done a lot of local walking, but we weren't sure how he would like a long hike. It turned out to be a fabulous trip and a beautiful day. It is definitely the start of a family tradition. We chose an easy hike where we could hit two peaks, North Sugarloaf and Middle Sugarloaf. I took a ton of pictures and I can never decide on just a few, so here are a lot of photos of our day:

The trail was lined with large granite boulders:

Some sections were quite steep. Sean most certainly got a workout with Finn on his back:

The summit! Beautiful views and a lovely breeze rejuvenated us:

Family photo:

Time for a snack:

Of course, we would have to splash in the rock pool:

Getting a little tuckered out on the way down:

Finn appreciates the big rock:

At the bottom of the mountain, there was a crisp, clear river and we enjoyed dipping our toes in and cooling off. Finn couldn't believe his luck in finding all these rocks to throw in the water:

Mud, Part Deux

The last mud post was a big hit, so why mess with a good thing? I suspect there will be a lot of mud in our summer. Here are a couple pics and some video to enjoy...

Mud

What to do when you don't have a pond or swimming pool? Make your own...

We have been digging up the trunks and roots of locust trees that were invading our yard, so in the middle we have some patches of dirt. Finn enjoys helping me water the garden and today, when he had the hose, he took it upon himself to create some mud puddles with this dirt. And here is the document of our fun-filled, but dirty afternoon:
