Fishing
For Father's Day, Sean received a bonafide Spiderman Fishing pole. Just so happens, it is a perfect fit for Finn. Here they are trying it out. Finn loved casting, but didn't have a lot of patience to wait for a bite. They did get one bluegill sunfish though. Then, we went for a nice canoe ride after.
Touch-a-Truck
We went to a Touch-a-Truck event in the town right next to us. Essentially, they gather a big array of large vehicles and let kids check them out. Finn was very excited to see all this machinery in one place. First up, a fire truck:
He just climbed right in:
We went during the horn-free hour and Josette slept the whole time:
We went with Finn's cousins, and here are Libby and Liam and Finn:
Finn wanted to drive:
Finn and Sean climbed up into this large front loader. For most of the vehicles, there was someone there who owned it or operated it, but this one was unmanned. Finn loved trying out the steering wheel and playing with the levers. Unfortunately, he was grabbing one lever, and all of a sudden, the bucket jumped! Oh my, we were startled! Can't believe they left this unattended and operational, but Finn was all smiles:

Strawberry Picking
6 Weeks
We did a little 6 week old photo shoot of Josette. She definitely has smiling down these days! When we are doing pictures, Finn likes to make funny faces at her to try to make her smile. At six weeks, we are doing great. Josette is sleeping pretty well. Sometimes, it is difficult to get her to go to sleep at night, but once she does, she will give us 4-5 hours stretches and typically goes back to sleep relatively quickly. Five hours is the medical definition of sleeping through the night, so I guess we could say she is! She likes to be swaddled and rocked to sleep. She takes a paci, but isn't addicted to it so far. She tends to spit it out before going into full sleep. She absolutely HATES the carseat and car rides. If we can get her in it during a deep sleep, she will stay asleep, but otherwise she cries a lot and it breaks my heart. Finn isn't fond of these car rides either and will let his voice be heard as well. I am not sure what to do about it because we do have to go places. I hope she outgrows it soon. Otherwise, she only seems to cry when she is tired and she seems to be a pretty happy girl. She seems to be growing rapidly. Check out the cuteness:

Just another day at the lake
You know we have it rough here in NH. If the temp goes above 80, we head for the water. Yesterday was a lovely day at the lake.
Finn runs right in:
And, enjoys plenty of splashing:
Josette and I watch from the dock:
Finn tells me, "I'm swimming like a fish, mama!"
Looking forward to swim lessons this year:
Lily scopes out the water:
And jumps in with a splash:
Finn says, "I can swim with Lily, mama!
