Oh, Lily, when will you learn?

We do so love our sweet Lily dog, but she really isn't the smartest labrador on the block.  Last Saturday, Sean took the kiddos and Lily for a hike on the "magic road" where we often go gallavanting in the woods.  It is a great place for Lily because she is safe to go off leash and roam as she pleases.  Unfortunately, this often results in her seeking out all sorts of mischief.  On this last trip she had a porcupine encounter.  Sean says she came barrelling out of the woods with quills poking out all over her face and front paws.  He had to convince Finn to immediately hike out while also convincing Lily to walk out as she frantically tried to roll and get the quills out.  On the upside, our wonderful country vet clinic is just down the road and on the route of the walk.  So, he stopped by and dropped her off for quill removal.  Here she is sleeping off the effects of anesthesia, now quill-free.  Oh, sweet, spoiled dog!
