On May 6, I attempted another Half Marathon on the seacoast. I was really nervous about it because I didn't think I had trained all that well for it. But, I guess the hills of Deerfield and the occassional run pushing a 70+ lb stroller did me well because I actually ran a personal record of 2:15:43.2, a pace of 10:22 a mile. It definitely helped that it was a beautiful day and a relatively flat course. It inspired me to really ramp up the training for a fall half and see if I can continue to knock time off. The course began and ended at the beach and it was a great place for Sean to hang out with Josette and Finn while I ran.
Here we are before the race:
Josette loves the sand, we just have to get her to stop eating it:
That water is COLD, but Finn didn't even flinch:
Sean took this at the last .1 mile, I was smiling to be done:
There were photographers throughout the race course and they gave us free downloads, so here I am:
Serious face:
Finish line, woohoo:
And, on the ride back, Finn passed right out. He looks how I felt, but I wonder who actually ran more that day!
